NOTICE: The SACC program is NOT affiliated with Bear Valley Elementary school. Therefore, no child is automatically enrolled, even incoming kindergartners. All SACC children will attend Bear Valley Elementary.

Our program is licensed for 80 children. A pre-registration form must be completed with with a $40.00 pre-registration fee. If your child is placed on the waitlist they will remain until a spot becomes open – even if it means going into the next school year. Tuition fees will not be required until your child receives a spot in the program.

There is no guarantee a spot will be available or specific time frame when a spot will become available. Therefore, it is always good to have a backup child care plan in place. We suggest being familiar with your existing child care withdrawal/refund policy, as if a spot becomes available at SACC, we do not “hold” spots until the previous child care runs out.

Please contact our office for more information.

Bear Valley Community Association offers before and after school care for children grades Kindergarten through 6th who attend Bear Valley Elementary.  We are happy to have the opportunity to be able to provide quality childcare to the families within the Bear Valley Community!
SACC (school age child care) is proud to be providing the highest quality care since 2003 to the families of Bear Valley. Our hours of operation are 7:00-9:30am and 3:00-6:30 pm, Monday-Friday. We are closed and do not offer care on certain Holidays and the ASD Winter & Spring Breaks. A master calendar of closures can be found in our Parent Handbook to the left.

We seek staff who are passionate about working with children and can bring something new and exciting to our program! All staff must pass a background check prior to being in the program, are trained in CPR/First Aid, Health & Safety, participate in Mandated Reporter training, and obtain a MOA Food Handlers Certification. Staff are required to participate in a wide variety of trainings related to children, health and safety. Safety of the children is ALWAYS the number one priority of ALL staff with our program!

Our program philosophy is child centered and based on the National After School Association standards.  We are licensed by the Municipality of Anchorage Child Care Licensing and are inspected annually.

Children at SACC are free to choose from a wide variety of activities such as art,  gym, outdoors, dress-up and dramatic play, building and “manipulative”, board games, and cooking projects. If they choose, they can just “hang out” and relax with friends or read a book.

Homework time is always available along with a staff person to help out if needed. SACC children are provided a nutritious and yummy morning breakfast and afternoon snack.

SACC does provide full-day care on certain in-service days & half day care the parent-teacher conference half days. There is an additional fee for attendance of these days, and children MUST already be enrolled in the program. Please refer to our Parent Handbook for more information.
